Scholastic Book Fair
Tuesday, March 22 - Tuesday, March 29
Dear School Family,
You are invited to our Scholastic Book Fair, a reading event packed with
excitement for students and families.
Our theme -- Book Fair Carnival -- will make reading as entertaining as a
carnival midway. The entire school community will delight in an exciting
atmosphere of great books, thrilling stories, and fun. Readers of all ages will
walk away from the Book Fair with the grandest prize of all: a lifelong love of
reading!
Funds raised in this year's fair will go toward the purchase of new
software for the library. This software will allow students to access the
library catalog on their own, as well as provide access from home via the
internet. It will also greatly improve communication regarding overdue books and
fine notices.
Parents and grandparents are invited to Books for Breakfast, an adults-only
preview of the fair on Tuesday, March 22 starting at 7:00 AM. This is a great
opportunity to see what is available, purchase a surprise, or get your child a
gift certificate to spend on his or her favorites. Complimentary breakfast
breads and coffee will be available while supplies last.
Family Night is Friday, March 25 starting at 6:30 PM. There will be games,
food, fun, prizes, and books for the whole family. We'll even have a special
guest author! When you arrive, make your way to the ticket booth -- every person
who attends gets a free carnival ticket to spend.
The book fair will be open from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM on school days from
Tuesday, March 22 - Tuesday, March 29. For more information or if you would like
to volunteer to help with the fair, visit our Scholastic Book Fair homepage
online
here.
Please note: many titles listed in Scholastic's featured books section will not
be available at our fair.
Please join us to make this Book Fair the BEST our school has ever seen. I
look forward to seeing you at the fair!
